The 12th Annual Fitchburg State College foundation Golf Tournament will return to Oak Hill Country Club this year, on Monday, July 20, 2009.

Proceeds will benefit the Fitchburg State College Foundation, Inc., which for 30 years has helped enrich and support the academic expereince of students at Fitchburg State College through scholarships and more.

George McFarland ’72 retired last year from the Johnny Appleseed Elementary School in Leominster, but he still keeps a group photo of the students from his last class—his angels, he calls them—on the front of his refrigerator.
The 16x70 foot spot on the south side of the McKay Campus School wasn’t much to look at, just a grassy area wedged between the cafeteria and a parking lot, sporting some weeds and clover and not much else.
